Glamping Couples Session in Hocking Hills

Dylan and Chelsea are GOALS. These two have been together for over 5 years and are very much in love. They showed up to our session looking amazing, but what really blew me away was how effortlessly they love one another. My goal for these images was to capture that - and man did they make my job easy. Enjoy these two! Shout-out to Crockett’s Run Event Venue - the yurt you see here is just one of their amazing glamping tents and part of their incredible property of lodging, venues and more!

Sunset Couples Session at Scioto Grove

These two have entered every photo session giveaway I’ve ever done. They are new parents to a sweet little boy. I wanted to give them an opportunity to get some photos done, and they wanted to help me build my portfolio! We met up last Saturday at sunset to create some sunbathed images. My goal for this session was to play with light and shadows as much as possible. I hope you enjoy the results!

Romantic Winter Wedding

I met Micah and Nathan last summer when we did their fun and quirky engagement photos at the Ohio State Fair. We had so much fun, and I knew their wedding day would be so special. The gorgeous details of this winter wedding were to-die-for, but what really got me were the special moments between these two and their loved ones. I hope you enjoy every last image from these two’s romantic winter wedding day.

Stump Pass Beach Couples Session

When in Florida, you research all the coolest spots near where you’re staying, connect with an awesome couple on Instagram, and set up one awesome photoshoot! Working with Raiyne and Trevor was so much fun. We trekked about a mile across Manasota Key Beach to Stump Pass Beach State Park last Tuesday for some photos! We were hoping for golden hour and a sunset, but it was pretty overcast that day, so instead we got some awesome moody images! I was so drawn to the dead trees and stumps at this park when I found it, and I knew it would make for some unique images!

German Village Proposal

Several weeks ago, Kaitlyn emailed me to book one of my Valentine’s mini sessions. She and Jacob had never had professional photos taken of the two of them, and as a fellow couples photographer, Kaitlyn wanted to get a feel for what it’s like being in front of the camera. Fast forward to last week - I get a message from Jacob telling me that he is planning to propose to Kaitlyn during their session. I freaked out from excitement and then we got to work scheming and planning. I had Kaitlyn and Jacob write each other love letters that they would exchange during their session. So toward the end of their session, I had them stand back to back and read the letters. I told them to close their eyes once they finished reading them. At this point, I grabbed the ring from Jacob’s coat pocket, brought it to him, and he got down on one knee. Then I told Kaitlyn to turn around and open her eyes when on the count of three.

This is what happened when she turned around:

18 Things I Learned in 2018

While 2017 was without a doubt the most eventful year of my life, I feel pretty confident that 2018 has been one of the most educational years of my life. My mind and heart have been stretched in so many ways, personally, relationally, spiritually and as a professional. This year I shot more sessions than ever before, finally created an LLC and made the goal in March to be full time by December, but felt doubtful that would happen. Much to my surprise, I ended up going full time in July, and haven’t looked back! I wanted to reflect on what I’ve learned this year, and share it with you!

Wine and Wood Ducks

I don’t think I quite have the words to communicate how special this session was. The grandfather of a friend, that specializes in homemade wine and wooden ducks. I learned about how he creates each of these, I heard stories about his days as a surgeon and a soldier, and got to hear many jokes. What a privilege it was to do something different for a change and to get to capture photos that I know will be cherished for years to come.
